Hi there!
I am a freelance Marketing + PR Consultant and Trend Forecaster who lives, works + does yoga in and around Hoboken , New Jersey. I am also a graduate of the Wharton School ( undergrad), but I am most proud of my degree from the Bright Spirit Yoga 200 Hour Teacher Training Program, Hoboken, NJ -now I am a 200 Hour RYT® ( registered yoga teacher) certified by Yoga Alliance.

Before yoga, I was a “very driven” Prada wearing-marketing director in the fragrance industry. My expertise, was trend forecasting- I had a knack for being able to predict “what was next”. My trend forecasting technique was even featured in the New York Times Style pages. As a trend forecaster my work was my life. Or should I say -observing other peoples’ lives was my work. I had an intense life -traveling, presenting, always observing everyone, shopping everywhere, reading everything-never really focusing on me or the “here and now”. Life for me was happening in the future. My job was to bring the “outside world inside” to product development, perfumers and marketing experts.

My work was my life. It consumed me. I consumed it.

After finding yoga as a starting point, NOW- my life -is also my work. I guess I was lucky enough to be a trend forecaster, because it did lead me to where I am today. I remember my first exposure to yoga was taking a group of clients+perfumers to Jivamukti Yoga ( in 1997) as part of a customized TrendTrek™. A few people in my group were not happy that they had to take their shoes off. A few of us, however- really got it. The music, the mat, the incense, the colors, the teachers voice, the entire scene-it was such a cool experience. Others in my group questioned my better judgment and wished they were at Barney’s sniffing niche perfumes.

It was on that very day, that I got a “sneak peak” at where I wanted my own life to go. So I was off , on my own, in a new direction–on the path–as they say! I personally jumped right into one of the biggest “trends”- yoga. I was lucky enough to discover a bubbling yoga scene in Hoboken and some incredible teachers and a great studio - Devotion Yoga - that turned me on to so much more than having a great “yoga butt”. Overtime, my friends and business associates noticed that I was becoming a much more relaxed person. This was an unexpected benefit of my yoga “practice”.

I then began noticing so many more activities that kept me “on the path” - interests like meditation , yoga conferences, books , music and master teacher seminars that kept me engaged. The more I learned, the more I wanted to know more. I was discovering so many new things-based on both modern and ancient wisdom-which really connected with me. I was lucky enough to meet Kelsang Tsoglam from the Meditation Center of NY, who has been a invaluable guide to me and so many others in our weekly Buddhist classes to understanding the importance of kindness and compassion.

I started Yoga On the Hudson with the intention to share “all things yoga” that “come across my path”. I admit, I still love to follow trends , especially fashion + design trends. So I “pepper” my blog postings with earthly things like cool yoga pants and the must-have yoga mat. But I am also recording some of the more inspiring people, places and things that catch my attention. My intention is to now apply my best trend seeking skills into the world of yoga –”on and off the mat”.

A little bit about the name -Yoga On the Hudson. For those of you who have not been to Hoboken, New Jersey, I’ll share with you that Hoboken is one mile square, and sits right on the left bank of the Hudson River–my view from my home is the New York City Skyline. Hoboken is the home of Baseball, Blimpies, Frank Sinatra, the best Italian bread in the world, The Sopranos opening footage and I think -algorithms, ( I am not kidding)! It’s obviously a good place to get inspired. Must be the water. Thus, the name..Yoga on The Hudson was born.
